Torino: nuove esperienze a ogni angolo

Hidden Turin: Why It's Never Really Still

Have you ever had the feeling that "there is never anything new to do in the city"? A thought that sounds familiar, but perhaps it is a reflection of our habits: same places, same rhythms, those routines that we criticize but that make us feel safe.

Turin, on the other hand, is anything but static. Hidden exhibitions, intimate concerts, books that pop up where you least expect them , culinary experiences and tours that look at the city from new perspectives. This city is a playground , if only we allowed ourselves to truly explore it.

Yet, there is the curious effect of social media: we are bombarded with events and invitations , but too often it becomes nothing. “Yes, it's fine, but there's never anything new” is just the echo of our saturation.

When I leave Turin on Sundays, I go to the mountains. In the bars of the villages I enjoy looking at posters of events that are often already past. Once, a lady complained that up there the only thing missing was the cinema. We, on the other hand, with everything at our fingertips, struggle to give value to abundance .

A festival you’ve never noticed, a drink you’ve never tasted, a square you’ve never crossed at sunset: maybe it’s not the city that’s standing still, but our gaze. Sometimes, to discover new things, you just need to change direction .

What if the next new thing to do is already here , waiting for someone to notice?
